I've been visiting my parents in Italy for five weeks now. I thought I'd be updating both my gallery and journal more frequently -- re: at all -- over that time, but apparently not.

The first week and a half I spent here, all I wanted was to go home. Granted, I wasn't feeling well and I had jetlag, and the two combined made both worse. All the baggage I have with my parents, which I had thought I'd put behind me, came out -- even though I'd grown up and we'd talked through it, it took a little more effort to finish the job. And bad memories -- when I came here with them two years ago, I had severe depression.

I missed my friends who were coming home from college, friends at work, an my family back home.

Now I don't want to go back.

Italy doesn't capture my heart the way it does my dad's. I don't think this is possibly the greatest culture on earth. But it's nioe. The countryside is beautiful. And there's so much history here. Every time you turn a corner there's a shrine with another story behind it.

Still. It'll be good to get home and get into a schedule again. Because when I don't schedule my time, I waste it.

I won't write a long summary of my trip here -- that'd take too long. I'll be posting pictures once I get home (and back to software I can use: my dad hasn't wanted to upload anything on this computer, which means I have MS Paint. Ick) and stories will go along with those.
